Press Release

Please join us for another swap during our summer market season. This Sunday (June 23) is Coventry Regional Farmers Market’s annual Wellness Fair. We would love for you to bring your homemade salves, sugar scrubs, tonics and infusions. Don’t forget that baking or jam making can contribute to wellness too!

As always, anything handmade, handcrafted or homegrown is swappable. But remember – you must sign up and bring something to get something in return!

You need to sign up for a swap ticket if you plan to attend.

Time: BEFORE the market: Set up any time after 10 a.m. Announcement of the swap will be around 10:30, and swapping starts around at 10:40 a.m.

Location: Come for the swap, stay for the market! Look for the CRFM Swappers sign or ask for us at the Market Masters tent. Please check out our Facebook Page for any last minute updates.

We will have tables set up exclusively for swappers. Drop off your goods, stick around to swap, and then do the rest of your market shopping!

Format: We will pass out tags for each item to be swapped. (Overall event description similar to other swap events here.)

Swapping will start at 10:40-ish and end once all the items are swapped.

Please print and fill out your tag ahead of time HERE.

Reminder: ONE TAG PER ITEM YOU WANT TO SWAP!

This means if you bring two jars of jam, you need to fill out two tags. It is up to you whether you want to combine two jars of jam to swap for one item (i.e. a dozen eggs) later – each swapper determines the value of the items in their trades.

Please sign up for a ticket if you plan on attending. One ticket per attendee (NOT per item or per family). http://crfmwellnessswap.eventbrite.com/

Please email CRFMSwappers@coventryfarmersmarket.com with any questions.

Connecticut Water refutes criticisms of UConn water plan

Connecticut Water Eric Thornburg from Town Talk

Connecticut Water is well positioned to provide the water necessary to meet the needs identified for the University and the community over the 50 year planning horizon. The EIE considered the projected demands for the University’s Tech Park and the Next Generation initiative, as well as the Town of Mansfield’s plans for redevelopment of the Four Corners, the proposed managed care facility, and other potential development in the community consistent with their local plans.

Questions about water sources, usage and quality have come into focus recently in light of the Storrs Center development, UConn’s plans to bring in water to support a new Tech Park and the concurrent needs of the towns in this region, particularly in terms of their own development plans.
