Agnes Julia (McGann) Kennedy, 77, of Willington, Connecticut, joined the angels July 27, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

She was born April 11, 1936 in Benton, New Brunswick, Canada, the youngest of 8 siblings: Francis, Lawrence, Katherine, Gregory, Margaret, Mary, and Patrick, born to the late Alice and Edward McGann.

On Nov. 4, 1954 she married the love of her life, Fredrick Kennedy.

Agnes is survived by her husband and their 5 children, Debbie, Bonita, Gerald, Margaret, Michael and their spouses.

She was “Nana” to 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved to spoil and cook for whenever she had the opportunity.

Agnes moved from Canada to the United States in 1964. Her family resided in Manchester, CT for many years, where she worked at Food Mart for more than 10 of those years.

Agnes and her husband retired and moved to Willington, CT in 1989 where she lived up until her passing.

Agnes’ favorite moments were spent by her husband’s side – in a bingo hall, on a dance floor, or in the kitchen making jams, jellies and pickles.

She will be remembered as a caring woman who loved to have her family gathered around her table sharing stories and listening to country music.

Over the past few years Agnes was supported in so many ways by teams of loving medical staff. We are very grateful to DaVita Dialysis, St. Francis Hospital and Masonicare Hospice for helping to make her final days on earth comfortable.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 5-7 p.m., with a funeral service to take place at 7 p.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Connecticut Chapter, (Kidney.org), 2139 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to the Willington Fire Department #1, P.O. Box 161 Willington, CT 06279.

Connecticut Water refutes criticisms of UConn water plan

Connecticut Water Eric Thornburg from Town Talk

Connecticut Water is well positioned to provide the water necessary to meet the needs identified for the University and the community over the 50 year planning horizon. The EIE considered the projected demands for the University’s Tech Park and the Next Generation initiative, as well as the Town of Mansfield’s plans for redevelopment of the Four Corners, the proposed managed care facility, and other potential development in the community consistent with their local plans.
